Oscar Night

So, the show has been pretty good so far. I just have to give two shout outs tonight. First is for the new Oscar winner for best original score. Steven Price took home my favorite trophy of the entire awards season for his work on the film Gravity. I’ve only sampled a few of the tracks, but it’s beautiful and it echos one of my favorite sounds ever: outer space. Ooh, I can’t wait to sit down, put on the headphones and be transported to the final frontier. The second shout out of the night goes to Pink for giving a flawless performance of the classic tune, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. It was so refined and the more I hear performers like Pink or Adele who give incredible performances without constant vocal acrobatics, the more I respect them. It’s not that I don’t love my Xtina and her finger-waving, but there is a lot of presence in the absence of nonsense. Oh! And Cate Blanchett is the most epically badass woman of all time. Just saying.
